Honours & Awards

Sminu Jindal and her initiative ‘Svayam’ have won numerous awards and laurels in India and abroad and have been featured in many renowned publications including “Corporative Divas” – by Sonia Golani, “Why I Failed” – by Shweta Punj (Penguin), “Indian Business through the Ages” by FICCI on 50 years of Celebrations of India’s Independence. The list of honours includes:

1. Women Entrepreneur of the Year 2009 Award by FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO)

2.  Young Global Leaders (YGL) 2009 by World Economic Forum

3.   National Tourism Award of Excellence jointly with ASI for making the World Heritage Site of QutabMinar in New Delhi as Most Accessible & Disabled Friendly Historical Monument in 2009

4.   Alumni Award for Excellence by Sri Ram College of Commerce in 2011

5.   National Tourism Award 2011-12 for making the FatehpurSikri Group of Monuments, Agra as the “Best Maintained and Disabled Friendly Historical Monument”

6.     Asia-Pacific Enterprise Leadership Award (APELA) in the category of Social Service (2012)

7.      L’orealFemina Women Award in the ‘Favourite Face of a Cause category in 2014

8.     Global Youth Icon Awards 2014, constituted by Yuvsatta to recognize the services of young people who are real role model for others to follow suit

9.      Africa CSR Leadership Award 2012 conferred by the Stars of the Industry Group & endorsed by World CSR Day, CMO Council and Thought Leaders International


11.  Sminu Jindal was recognized as one of the four Veers of the campaign “Veer” – an initiative of ‘Being Human’ of film star Salman Khan and CNN IBN.

12. Jindal has been featured in a Book titled “Power Smiles, Power Women” along with 25 most successful women in different walks of life.

Membership
Mr. Sminu Jindal has been a Jury Member on the Committee for the National Awards for the Welfare of Persons with Disabilities, Govt. of India.

Her initiative Svayam is a member of the Standing Committee on Accessible Transportation and Mobilitywith the Transport Research Board, Washington, USA.(6)Svayam has been participating consistently in TRB annual meetings since 2009 to bring to fore various developments & challenges India faces in achieving an inclusive and accessible transport infrastructure. The learning and best practices shared during the TRB meetings were brought home and practiced during our work and in our various engagements with policy makers, govt. departments, municipalities, etc.
